How do I cite non-traditional sources (videos, websites, AI tools)?
Answer
Most citation styles (APA, MLA, Chicago) have guidelines for these:
- Websites: Include author (if available), page title, site name, date, and URL
- Videos (e.g., YouTube): Include creator, title, platform, date, and URL
- AI tools: Cite the tool name, version (if applicable), the company, date, and how you used it (check your instructor’s policy)
Always consult:
- Your required citation style guide (APA, MLA, Chicago Manuals, or the Purdue Owl)
- Library citation guides (Freshman Writing guide, International Student writing )
